Pilot Participation Terms

1. What this is

This is an early, manual pilot test of a card/collectible verification concept called SealedChain. It is not a finished product, is not insured, and is not backed by any company guarantee. Dan McGowan (SealedChain LLC, pending formation) is testing whether a hashed, timestamped record of a card's condition photos is useful to collectors and their trade counterparties.

2. What you're agreeing to give

By creating an account and participating, you agree to provide condition photographs of a card or slab you own, along with a description sufficient to identify it (set, player, grade, serial number if graded). These will be cryptographically hashed (SHA-256) and timestamped, and a shareable verification link will be created showing the hash, timestamp, and photos.

3. No guarantee of fraud prevention

This verification record does not guarantee that a card has not been tampered with, does not authenticate the card itself, and does not replace grading services like PSA or CGC. It is a timestamped record of what a photo showed at a point in time — nothing more. SealedChain (and Dan McGowan personally, during this pilot) makes no warranty that this record will prevent fraud, be accepted by any buyer or counterparty, or hold up in any dispute.

4. Data use

Photos, descriptions, and the resulting verification record may be: (a) stored and shared via the link you're given and anyone you send it to; (b) used internally, in aggregate and anonymized form, to evaluate whether this pilot is working (for example, counting how many links get viewed); (c) not sold to third parties. You can ask to have your specific record deleted at any time during the pilot by contacting dan.mcgowan@gmail.com.

5. No payment, no ongoing obligation

This pilot is free. Participating does not create any ongoing business relationship, subscription, or obligation on either side. Either party can stop at any time.

6. Liability limitation

To the fullest extent permitted by law, participation in this pilot is at your own risk. Dan McGowan / SealedChain is not liable for any loss, dispute, financial harm, or other damages arising from your use of a verification record produced during this pilot, including reliance on it by a buyer or trade counterparty.

7. Not legal or financial advice; no dispute resolution service

This pilot does not include any dispute resolution, escrow, or arbitration service. If a trade goes wrong, that is between you and your counterparty — SealedChain is not a party to your transaction during this pilot.

8. Governing state

To be added once SealedChain's LLC formation state is finalized.
